The Rolex Datejust is possibly the most recognisable watch in production. Launched in 1945, the Datejust introduced a date function at the 3 o'clock position to the Rolex self winding movement. Another modification was that the Datejust was fitted with a fluted bezel, At its release, the Datejust was the premium watch in the Rolex line until the 1950s when the Rolex president day date was released.
