As Cartier's flagship brand the Tank collection was initially created in 1917 as a tribute to the Allied forces in Europe. The modern design was based on the Renault RT tanks of world war I. The Tank Louis Cartier was then released in 1922 with modified rounded horns with the tank Americaine appearing in 1989. The tank Francaise was released in 1996 revealing rounded corners and an integrated bracelet (similar to the caterpillar tracks on the RT tanks). Recently the tank Anglaise has just been launched.
