Oyster Perpetual Date

The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date is under the flagship line of Rolex, the Oyster Perpetual. The Oyster was developed to meet the need for a waterproof, air-tight and dust-proof watch in 1926. The Oyster had one fault in that the winder needed to be unscrewed each time the watch needed rewinding. This could compromise the Oyster that Rolex conceptualized, designed and manufactured the Perpetual automatic movement. The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date series has the date shown through an aperture on the dial.
